Kindergarten requires a record of all the vaccine shots, a recent medical examination (filled out by doctor). So bringing a record from China, and if he misses any shots, he can get them here. I suspect most places offer free shots for low income family. I would buy health insurance for him but do not know how (he is not covered by your family insurance, I think.)
