It's a well known trick that MMs use a few heavy weight stocks to pump the index. That's why I pay a lot of attention to market breadth and the A/D line. So far in this rally, these 2 indicators have not made new highs. Smallcap index has also failed to make a new high, although it's not far from it.

If MMs want to manipulate, the underlying trend will always be the opposite of the near term price action. But the question remains: how do you know whether MMs are manipulating or accumulating? Calling the bluff is no easy task.
