Just bought a 2006 Passat as a third commuter car. It has a great Tiptronic auto/mannual transmision, no such thing as Jap transmision (has Maxican parts).

What a great and safe car with tons of standard equipments. Comes with 4 years warranty and 4 years 24 hr road side assistant.

Never looked at the Jap cars.
