Make sure your car is in good running condition. Change the oil
and check all fluid levels before the trip.

Practice putting on the spare tire now so you won't be too
nervious when you have a flat tire.

During the trip, check oil and coolant levels everytime you buy gas.
Join AAA if not a member yet.

By the way, what kind of car do you drive?
