You may want to discuss it with the lawyer first. If it doesn't work out, fire the lawyer and file a formal complaint with the State Bar of California:

The state bar usually doesn't act very quickly, but when there are enough complaints about the same lawyer and the conduct complaint of is egregious, it will definitely act on it.
Keep a good record of everything, including written and oral communications with the lawyer. Good luck.
