I am selling my bigger house and will buy a smaller size later. Housing price have reached to the highest point before Fed raised interests rate. the bigger you buy, the more you will lose. Therefore, it will be better to buy a small size and just big enough for you to live. forturenately, I have earned a lot of money on my houses in CA, but lost a lot on my stocks.
