i think it is the socket's problem. you have a 93 model?
during somewhere around 93, the right rear socket was not built right. it happenned on many ford vehicles. the left one is ok. you can get another good socket to replace it. or you can modify the current socket to make the light bulb to touch the connector all the time. it should fix the problem.if you go to the dealer. they can tell you all about it. ford issued recall before as I remember.
