Flame changing in red and yellow or, between
My hands holding a mug of green tea , warming
While my nose damped by the hot steam
My friend, what are you drinking
A jar full of Ice slowly melting
When the can of gas fire burning ?
Are you rough fingers flipping through 'the uncut pages
Of the book you received as a Christmas gift
By the faint candle light
In another sleepless night?
Or the old man and the sea
Is your only company?
Perhaps you fall into sleep
In a dream with a beautiful lady?
Freshly out from the oven, a herb cheese bread
With a calming rosemary aroma
Glasses of champagne cheer
Making all the new year wish surreal
Off white wall with family photos
China cabinets filled by travel souvenirs
A happy family’s presentation
To be proud of by generations
Is that all you are hoping?
Or you prefer lost in the wild
Being a lonely hunter, only belonging is a gun
Waiting for a rabbit, a pheasant or even a deer?
The gusty wind blow and howl
The cypress trees branch broken to the thick snow
All happening without a scheme
Playing together as an orchestra team
Launch a special mid-night hymn
Comforting their solo audience
Whose thirsty soul struggling to remain serene
A wish lamp flying away to the distance
With a fantasy of reaching the north
All the words could be written
Also disappearing in the darkness
It would land not far, silently
By the river where you wish
Come in the spring to fish
Or in the woods where you promise
Picking up mushrooms when visit
The lantern burns into a dash of ash
With a destiny of worthless dust, that we both agree
We will all become, one day
