硅谷的洛斯加托斯小镇

洛斯加托斯（Los Gatos）是硅谷著名的小镇，从1850年代中期的面粉磨坊开始，到1887年正式注册成立，小镇已经有了一百多年的历史。在二十世纪初期，洛斯加托斯是一个蓬勃发展的农业镇，出产杏子、葡萄、和李子。从二十年代开始，小镇开始成为艺术中心，吸引了许多画家、音乐家、作家、和演员。小提琴家Yehudi Menuhim的童年在洛斯加托斯度过，女演员琼•方登（Joan Fontaine）和奥利维亚•哈维兰（Olivia de Havilland）姐妹于洛斯加托斯高中毕业生，《愤怒的葡萄》和《击败英雄尼尔•卡瑟戴》的作者约翰•斯坦贝克（John Steinbeck），五十年代就居住在洛斯加托斯。

洛斯加托斯是美国的富区，属于那些富裕的“1％”，房价从市中心的一百万旧房子，一直到山上的 三千万大豪宅，真是令人大开眼界。

我们带着女儿逛洛斯加托斯，出入精品小店，穿越农贸市场，观赏艺术社区，不失为周末之一乐。
