圣诞节过后的一天傍晚，我在回家的车里，偶然转到一个平时不常听的电台，听到了这首歌。Anne Cochran 我并不熟悉，这首 Someone is missing at Christmas 也是第一次听见。可是，那淡淡的忧伤还是击中了我。这首歌里所唱的，那个在圣诞节缺席的某人，在不同的人听来可以是不同的答案，也许是生离，也许是死别…… 那是个在我们生命中很重要的人，是个在团圆的节日里让人想念的人。
我们中国人有在重阳”遍插茱萸少一人”的思念，也有在中秋“但愿人长久”的盼望。而西方的圣诞节，也是家人团聚的时刻。听惯了轻快欢乐的圣诞歌曲，乍一听到这首歌，心里真是别样滋味。今年的圣诞前夕，我接连听到了两个恶耗，我的一位同事失去了母亲，我教会里的一位弟兄也离开了人世。我可以想见那两家人在这节日里格外地悲伤和痛苦。而我们，独在异乡为异客的我们，在这别人的节日里，也一样会思念我们远方的亲人……
这首歌由 John Chaffee 所写，Anne Cochran 娓娓唱来，哀而不伤，象是在轻轻地安慰那想念亲人和朋友的人。听着这首歌，我想到了自己远在大洋彼岸的白发双亲，想起了我已经去世多年的爷爷奶奶和外婆，也想起了那些孤单在海外过节的朋友……
