if you read the introduction, it said the purpose is to change the current resident “racial “ proportion, because of the “ minority” is not well representative .

USMLE pass/fail result instead of the current numeric score which is heavily used by programs to select residents. It might be because most Asian students hit high scores therefore gain better chance of getting into residency programs or better one? If only pass/fail. The game will change.

It is public opinion time. If no strong opposition is expressed,it will become the rule or policy.
