Needs to see his future

 

Take a family trip to Boston this summer.  Visit as many college campuses as you can.  Also do the Freedom Trail, John Adam's home, etc..

Ask him to clean up his room, make his bed each morning, place his shoes in their proper place after each use.

Make a banner, "Attitude is Everything" and place it in his room.  Remind him that knowledge is important, but respect is more so.  Finishing homework with good care is a way to demonstrate that respect.  Teachers need that.
