How do I help my kid for middle school math?

Can someone please help me to give me suggestions for middle school math? My kid is learning pre-algebra in honor class. From my observation, class run fast, so topics almost not repeat. So 3 days/week has 20 problems, but all these problems are not very hard. My kids has 4 quiz so far, average around 75 of 100, C, because one of quiz she didn't study got D. 

 I help her go over homework. Anyone could give me some suggestion what extra books/problems I could find for her to practice? Does AOPS fit for school common core requirement? Basically I am kind of lost, dont' know what study requirement/reference books for middle school math. I also was told there is text book from school.thanks.
