说个观察

有谁能解释一下2，30多年前学物理的为什么现在转行的几率很高？当时的时代背景和行业背景？

今天中午和一对台湾夫妇吃饭，男的称以前是学物理的，现在改行了。这一对明显的是太太当家，男的说话好像都要看太太的眼/脸色再说话似的，让我想起了小马哥。LOL

我还知道一位UCB 物理本科，UChicago 硕士毕业，后来也干着和专业完全无关的工作。是这个专业在当年的时代背景下不得不转行吗？谁能预测今天的热门专业若干年后不成为冷门？如何判断未来的行业趋势？
