How many parents here involve with recruiting?  Do you really think it is merit-based?

We may take a student with 3.2 GPA from a local college, not 3.8 from CMU (Chinese boy).

The Chinese boy did not even pass the resume screen, just because he has a Chinese last name + he is a boy.  You may say that he does not have good soft skills.  He did not even get a chance to show his soft skills.

So wake up, parents.  If you demonstrate you can win USAMO, then USAMO is not important anymore; if you do sports, then sports will not matter any more ......  If the total number of Chinese students is limited, our children will never win.

Ultimately, our children are good enough.  We, as parents, are not powerful enough to ensure that they have equal rights.
