Leadership and community services:

Co-president of the Jefferson Awards Club: the club won a local service award ($500).  http://www.jeffersonawards.org/

Founder/president of the Green Energy Initiative: studied and analyzed the green energy options for the high school utility needs; gathered over 460 students' signatures to support the proposal; worked with the school district and solar energy panel venders for the proposal/plan; met with the US congress woman of our area and won her support to explore the potential funding sources. The congress woman wrote additional recommendation letters for my son's college applications (although the letters were sent out in early Jan after the application deadlines).
