加州父母比别处爱补习么？可能，关键看你如何定义“补习”

俺家老大今年也去CTY了，著名的nerd camp，加州父母不去一次好像就对不住娃。俺们没有去数学也没有去写作，报的是Renaissance, 娃自己选的，算是lesser of the many evils。

上了一个多星期，昨晚第一次正经来电话，听着都兴奋，说可喜欢了，老师无所不知，TA是CAL历史系的高才PHD student (俺们自己狗出来的），每天都盼着上课，没有homework，有个pre camp test和post camp test，不是衡量娃，是衡量老师教的如何，真的是把learning放在第一位。娃很向往的说，I think this is what college classes are like。俺们木敢乌鸦嘴的说，this is  probably better than most college classes。俺多盼望也能上这个camp，这实在是老妈梦寐以求的课堂。生活上也挺细致，娃踢球弄的ingrown toe nail有点发炎，camp负责人带着去医院拿药，吃药，俺惭愧的想ms人家把娃照顾的比俺还好

顺便说，CTY checkin 的时候，乌鸦压的小亚，夹杂着几个小犹。本以为Renaissance是小亚们的冷门，结果娃说班上只有一个non Asian，而且男娃比女娃多，跟俺预测的一群小白女完全不符，看来还是老亚们比较舍得在娃身上花钱

老二也补，上五周的math enrichment camp，他自己要求去的，不思上进的老二，让俺很惊讶，原因是好朋友去年上了，很喜欢，说it's not what you think，每天9－3点，上上课，打打游戏，每周有个field trip， carnival, 6 flags, brave首映那天就看了，也没作业，小考的成绩偶也不关心，吃的比平时school lunch好很多倍。娃特开心

所以补习和fun，不一定是对立的zero sum。如果能边玩也学点东西, why not?

也许俺还不够大娃妈，可能高中补习又不太一样？还请过来人指点
