为了让孩子在美国有任同感,we told our kids that they are Americans. However, since their parents are from China, they have Chinese heritage, and they should feel proud of it just like we do. So when my kids went back to China last time, lots of people told them that they need to continue to learn Chinese because they are Chinese forever.
My young kids said"我们是有中国血统的美国人。“Many people laughed. Some even talked to us about how we should educate our kids 不要忘本。Since my kids are too young to understand, I told them that they can say they are Chinese-Americans (CA) in USA, but they need to say they are Chinese in China. haha...
The other day, a Chinese Mom told me that I should say Chinese-American kids not ABCs in an e-mail I sent to Chinese parents. Haha... I agree.
说个好玩的。咱们的孩子是不是叫ABC?
