戴牙套的确会影响说话, 尤其是头几个星期.

I had my braces for two years when I was in the 30s.  Lost 10 lbs the first month.  My speech was slurred. It got better in a couple weeks after I got used to it.

Now I wear retainer every night (or almost every night).  I love my straight teeth.

I didn't want to go through the pain of braces until my two-year-old asked me: "Mom,why are your teeth crooked?  Did your mom not making you brush your teeth when you were a kid?"
