passion实际上只是人生的一个梦想而已

俺从小见过不少非正常的死亡，从小就想作医生。亲戚里作‘赤脚医生“的不少。可俺长大一点，发现自己不怕痛，不怕累，不怕血，却看不得针头。

到了上大学，稀里糊涂，以为生物考得不错，读了生物，多少和医沾点边。可命运有时还挺捉弄人的，毕业了，去农学院教书；上研究生，作生物股氮，还是和农业挂钩。出国前，联系美国的博士后位置，想作点艾滋病的研究，找了位华人科学家，可人家一看俺的background,也差得太远了点，拒了。稀里糊涂来了美国，终于和人沾点边，作肌肉的蛋白质相互作用；再到learnig/memory；再到激素对基因的表达和调控。这一圈，20多年的人生。


油盐菜米已经把理想消耗光了。曾经想回国，可自己作的东西，没有立足的地方。只好混饭吃。却没有想到，梦想在不经意中出现了。十几年的基础研究突然换成了药物筛选--老板一千个不情愿的东西。

还是给人打工，但今天终于作着自己感兴趣的东西了。制药公司的offer没有去，就想着现在这样可以按自己的idea作一些东西。还得为五斗米折腰，但看到了自己作的东西，不再是一篇可以让人随便扔进垃圾桶的狗皮文章，而是一个梦想：有了第一个小分子化合物，找到了第二代。再往下，是作机理，再到结构，为以后药物设计铺路呢，还是再筛compound library。要作的太多。有时真想回国，找几个人干。可钱呢？

女儿常来email谈老爸研究的进展。每一步，女儿都给老爸喊加油。和老板说，等儿子上高中了，让他来作volunteer.呵呵，到时候他说不准都退休了呢。

Passion啊，其实就是一个梦想。等追上了，还是得为五斗米折腰。谁让俺生来就是劳禄命？
