First, make sure you don't have local rent control ordiances.
Second, if no local rent control, then answer following question
1. is your property built after 1985? or 2. do you own it as a natural person?
If yes to either question, your property is exempt from AB1482. Then
(a) give notice that your house is exempt from AB1482, and increase rent any you want.
if no, you can only increase rent 5% plus inflation, not no more than 10%. Suppose inflation is very high last year, you can increase rent by 10% now.
