think the admission committee will care at all. I mentioned one example here before. My friend told me that they provied an interview chance to a student with perfect 4/4 in a very small college and but did not give chance to a student with 3.4/4 from Stanford. The reason is as simple as the latter student does not qualify the minimum GPA request. They do not care at all where one gets the GPA. That is why if one wants to go to medical school (not sure about elite ones), find a place to get easy As is much more important than the brand of the college. Again, for elite medical school, the game rule can be different.
