If the house is under your husband and your names, there is no problem with this cash purchase.   The problem is that the house is under your name, and you could not prove that your have enough fund to cover the purchase.  The company wants to know the source of the 50% fund coming from.  This is to prevent money laundering by using the cash to purchase a house.
