名校的经济学的愽士为什么也难找到工作?

有2 个主要原因: (1) 博士学位在美很难找到工作. 不管是名校或一般学校. (2) 经济学博士偏文科. 外国学生, 若不是成长在美国, 很难找到合适的工作。MIT or 其它名校毕业也没多大优势

在Early 90 年代, 我记得有一个短暂的meeting 和一个从 UC 经济系毕业的博士生。他是从大陆来的. 本科在大陆学的是英美文学. 他的英文相当好。但当时也无论如何找不到合适的工作。所以来我们研究生院询问转到我们的专业. 重新读硕士或博士。可以找到工作和办GC. UC 经济系十分著名。但他当时找工作碰到巨大困难. 后来,我不知道他的情况了.

那是early 90 年代. 回国发展还不是好的option. 现在不同了。

补充说明： 我帖子里的"经济博士" 很正常。那位先生不但英语写作水准一流, 社交能力也十分好. 我和他的meeting 不到一小时, 他十分有教养. 很会说话。并且很能沟通. 不愧为名校经济博士。我相信, 不管他现在在那里或做什么工作, 他一定是非常成功的.
