有必要换变速箱油吗

车子是01年的VW PASSAT,
快10年的老东西了，刚刚10万迈。
觉得该花点钱保养一下了。
这车的transmission 是封闭的，（没有检查标尺）
手册上好像也没说需要换。地雷说不用换，因为是密封的。
可网上很多人说应该换，油这东西总是有寿命的吧。
问题是换一下不便宜。差不多要500多块。
自己换比较困难。主要是因为没标尺，不好检查液面。
大侠们有什么建议呢？
