Additionally, each year the National Portfolio Day Association hosts a National Portfolio Day review at various colleges and universities across the country. In St. Louis, the National Portfolio Day event is held each year in October, at Washington University. This is an excellent opportunity for students to receive feedback about their portfolios from representatives of various Art schools and departments.

To begin preparing a portfolio at the high school level, students should be saving all of their artwork, including all sketchbooks. They should be taking as many art courses as possible, beginning as early as possible. The suggested course order for Cor Jesu students who are interested in studying Art or Design is as follows:

Freshmen   Introduction to Fine Arts (required)
Sophomore   Drawing I (pre-requisite for Painting, Drawing II and Independent Study in Art) and/or
Design I (pre-requisite for ACP Design II) and/or
Ceramics I (pre-requisite for Ceramics II) and/or
Painting (if Drawing I was taken as a summer course) and/or
ACP Drawing II (if Drawing I was taken as a summer course)
Junior   Any level one course not already taken or ACP Drawing IIPaintingACP Design II, or Ceramics II.
Independent Study in Art
AP Studio Art (if prerequisites are met)
Senior   Any level one course not already taken and/or ACP Drawing IIPaintingACP Design II, or Ceramics II
Independent Study in Art (pre-requisite for AP Studio Art)
AP Studio Art

ACP (Advanced Credit Program) courses receive college credit through UMSL.

我感觉,这全看本高中老师是否给力。不光是孩子本身才能得问题 -greenoasis- 给 greenoasis 发送悄悄话 (167 bytes) () 12/23/2019 postreply 07:41:30
