Listen to her, not to other parents (including me)

Contrary to the popular beliefs in this forum, Admission Officers are your student’s advocate. They actually want to find reasons to admit you, not find reasons to reject you. When this student spends tremendous efforts and time outside academics, it is only logical to expect that her essay be about these efforts. Do not try to convince her to do otherwise.
