*I* thought I might have a tough time...
*I* thought hard work and asking for help would be enough...
*I* didn’t know ... the extent to which I was underprepared.
*I* had a [math] tutor, ... office hours and Math Question Center.... But I still felt lost and was in danger of failing.

*This* is why the College *must* offer a summer enrichment program for [me]. There is *no* reason for [me] to arrive in the fall without one. A summer enrichment program for [me] could have prevented a situation like *mine.*

Because sociology.

P.S. Articles such as this can lead some to conclusions other than that which likely was intended. Just sayin'.
