Quality Time

During the regular semester, any excessive time that your student spend with you is the time that he could have spent doing activities with other students, studying, playing, or otherwise relaxing by doing nothing.  His roommate’s mom is robbing him (the  roommate) of quality time. You should take the hint from your student.  He will not make you feel guilty for not visiting him often.  Of course, if your student wants you to visit or needs your support, by all means, visit.
