He should be accepted. However...

Two girls were accepted MIT this year in my neighborhood.  One GPA 4.85 and one is 4.80.  12 AP courses and all As.

However, MIT is sport Orientate  university.  Even his GPA 4.0 and strong in sport, he can access.

There are several area that he need to be attention.

1. essay and interview

2. Does he have any awards?  (not piano or music)

3. All Ivy colleges want to find extrame student.  Not score.

4. To be consider in a special area.  If the student is a black that will be easier.  If the student with a signle mother, also easier.  Or you can pay 100% tuition fees, he can go any school he wants.
