Texas students who rank top 10% (7-8% for UT) in their class will automatically be admitted to any Texas public university. Those students will be admitted to the school by law but not guaranteed to the major they want. For CE, you will need to be in the 1-2% class ranking (there will be other measurements of course) to get in. For CS, you will NOT get admitted until your sophomore year, it is based on your freshmen year GPAs.
