Search bar harbor Maine cough Chinese. He jumped ship around 1890 and eventually settled in bar harbor Maine. He later got rich by doing businesses(richest person on the island). When I worked there, my landlady still remembered him as street peddler (he was still rich ). I have met his 1/16 Chinese blood great granddaughter who looks not like Chinese (of course). There was an upscale hotel called Atlantic oaks by the sea owned by his grandson (but not sure if still the case now). Interesting story.
