Even if the opportunities presented themselves to those underprivileged kids like what happened in the story, the outcomes are still largely the same.... Statistically speaking, the odds are against those kids in every directions we looked. A few lucky ones are just the outliers that can be ignored, which makes me wonder if the social mobility as we know it has indeed ceased to exist.
