Yes,"no one learns 4 yrs of Latin for fun"

"it can only be driven by passion" ... that's the mindset of most AOs.

 And passion is what they are looking for.

However, they don't realize that Chinese can withstand the pain of learning almost "useless" Latin as long as it is a good weapon for college app.

To be fair, Latin is not completely useless, it's the foundation of many western languages and a tool for unlocking some of the historical mysteries ... but unless you are into these fields for future career, it is practically useless.
