cost of living in Shanghai!

* kids international school 25KUSD/yr/kid  (not sure if your kids qualify for local schools, are they Chinese citizen?)

* Rental 50KRMB/month for a 2000sqft apt. in a decent location with facilities

* 5K/month/pp for A Yi   U might need two if ur wife can't drive in SH. driver is a bit more expensive.

* a car (4K RMB/month to lease a van + gas + insurance)

health care, various club membership, kids activities, vacations.... don't forget import food is expensive due to tax!

Don't think 1MM RMB is enough to raise two kids in SH, unless you can live like locals....
