Pretty good, engineering in particular. The school is the best in co-op education and it fosters practical skills. The graduates may not be top-notch sharp, but it is enough to find a job and doing well. Here are a few well-known alumni, as I know of, the current CEO of IBM, the founder of EMC and Lycos, among others.
Northeastern certainly is not Northwestern. They are not at the same rank, but their requirements are not comparable either. I'd say, NU, UMass Amherst and BU are at match nowadays. Northeastern and NYU are the top two most welcome among high-school seniors.
