trying one's best

to do things is the only ultimate request for my child from me. He might not be smart enough to accomplish anything significant, as long as he tries his best, I will be proud of him. I believe if he can do this in the future (i am not quite sure yet), he will find the best life, at his own potential, for himself. Based on my own observation, most of sucessful people i know of are not necessarily the smartest. That is y I believe high IQ does not mean too much for one's career. I do not see anything wrong/laughable if a child does not have a top 0.1% IQ, but work hard to explore the best potential of himself. Maybe i misunderstand your post. i agree other than SAT, there are lots of other things a child should learn, practice and they all take times.
