I would wait till at least half the class has DS.

As to the question, "别人这么小就能买，他却不能。" Answer is: "Parents are different and have different priority/style. I don't think other parents are right, but that is not my business. I am dong my best to raise you." Or, if you want him to understand, just tell him, "XXX can do 2nd grade math; XXX plays chess; XXX plays piano.... Do you want me to compare you with them?..." ;-))
