Not really agree -- "教养需要代代积累相传。"

I think, if parents can teach kids to have a good heart, be generous and empathetic to their follow human beings, the kids can easily to have good manner as soon as they know certain "rules". (For example, say "thank you" whenever possible ;-))

If you want to know all the "rules", especially those have nothing to do with normal people, it does need "代代积累相传".
