自私 != 现实; 现实 has no conflict with 聪明智慧

Just like you, no matter how sorry you feel for the poor rural kids who cannot go to school, you won't go there to teach them yourselves. You will donate money. Even for donating, you won't give everything except what you absolutely needs to survive. You will make sure that your kid has a comfortable life first. -- I think this is 现实, not 自私.

I admire people who is willing to sacrifice themselves (not their family members though) to make others happy. I applaud for anybody who gives help to others.
