Majority doctors and nurses are good. However, there are a few who are really bad. One of the problems is, in quite a few malpractice cases, the hospitals and other doctors were not honest with patients. They will do anything to cover the doctor who made mistakes. Even eventually it proves that doctors was wrong, he can easily go to another state to keep practice.
I remember reading a report shows that when hospital was honest with the mistakes they made, the patients (and families) show more understanding and were less likely to sue. Lots of times, patients sue to be able to find out what really had happened.
Like in the earlier post, if the nurse and doctor were more sympathetic to the mom, she would not think of suing.
