血浓于水 is universal, not just to Chinese.

This is human nature. When people can afford a comfortable daily life, they can afford to be nicer.

Even in those difficult times, I know Chinese treat adopted kids very nice. Nowadays, I believe more and more Chinese families are capable to make a warm home for a lonely heart.
