if you cannot find a better place to park the money, I would suggest to keep the property and rent it out.  You probably have a fixed 30-year mortgage which would guarantee fixed mortgage payment (you did not mention which state, if in California, the tax is also fixed), and the rent would continue to grow.  so, if the rent can cover mortgage and tax, it is good to keep.  Just do your due diligence in selecting tenants.
