Don't pay off your rental property! Here is why.

You save $500 every month by paying off your rental property.  Now, all your rent income minus expense will be net income which you will pay tax on it.  Then the mortgage you borrow can not be deducted on your tax return?  This is the part which is not clear to me.  Your should be able to deduct your mortgage on your primary residence.
