Sports training should start from toddlers up, and choose different varieties to give it a try.
Swimming if starts from mid infancy, guarantee your child would love to continue.
Martial arts like karate, Taekwando from three, four years old. Kids like social interaction.
Chinese literacy, not necessary. My kids don't speak Chinese at all. I don't care or encourage them to pursue it.
It's too hard when there's no outside environment to facilitate learning,
therefore no internal incentives for kids to learn. Kids gotta to choose eventually what
they like to learn, or practice. It's their life, not parents relive childhood again.
