Guess what my 5th grader said?

"Boys and girls together, bad things happen."

Boys and girls in his school already had separate lessons on puberty. Education materials used at school were sent home and students were encouraged to discuss with both parents. I read his material, honestly speaking, I like it - candid and straight forward, not only discusses about the change in body (both boys and girls), each gender's reproductive system, also about the emotional changes and how to handle that. Really educational and reassuring.
