Piano improvement

Daughter 8 years old, learned piano for 8 months. Now it starts to become difficult to let her practice piano everyday. Is it because she need nicer teacher? The current teacher is from Russia, strict, every time 1 hour, no textbook; just play the short real music piece. The teacher play well herself, but likes money. Responsible in the class, but the problem is my daughter couldn't remember everything talked in the class and forget.

Is there any suggestion how it could be better.
