shrinks? If we can always rely on our own feelings for directions to truth, what do we need controlled research for? What is the difference between anecdote and real science?

----"Parents are supposed to provide the wisdom."

When a kid is only 6 or 7 years old, his/her parents can afford to only provide "wisdom" and leave such an important decision as whether to skip a grade to the kid?

----"But they made a decision that is obviously wrong."

Are you saying grade-skipping is universally wrong no matter what such that the decision in this case was obviously wrong when it was made, or are you saying the decision only turned out to be wrong after the fact? If the latter, if grade-skipping is beneficial in certain cases, and if we acknowledge the obvious that we humans are not prescient, how then can we generaliza from the op's isolated case?

I repeat the question: "Where is the control?"
