I think you guys need to give suggestions on how to improve the

relationship between hu*****and and wife first.

Give ideas on how to make 幸福宝宝's hu*****and to realize that this is not an easy thing. He needs to get really prepared to deal with unexpected events. He needs to read you guys' suggestions on education and other books regarding educating a troubled-preteen. At the same time, he needs to learn to communicate with his wife about his plans peacefully.

It is easy to say to give love to the boy. If 幸福宝宝 herself does not feel being loved/appreciated, with a young baby to care and a full time job, unless she is a super-woman, it would be very tough.

Becoming a good parent needs learning, try and error. It is way too tough job for them at present time. It requires both of them be calm and acknowledging the difficulties and get prepared. This has nothing to do with being nice or not.
