I feel her husband needs to learn anger management first.

He hits her. This is domestic violence. This happened without a 9-year old boy, who does not follow instructions and has lots of issues. Only a person with extreme patience, clear mind and true understanding/empathy for other people, can help the boy. Her hu*****and is not qualified to do the job, at least, not yet. Not to mention they have a 5-month old baby, both of them work.

Constructive and solid suggestions might help her. Theoretical talking and moral lecture won't help.
